RACHEL JAMES - LAUNCH A/W 2015

RACHEL JAMES

MENSWEAR

GRANNY FLOWER

LAUNCH COLLECTION A/W 2015

Had the pleasure of consulting on the launch of Rachel James Menswear after her successful Westminster University Fashion Degree.

A relaxed fit for men with an interesting and radiant use of print and textured knitwear.

Basic men's fashion items, transformed through clever usage of cut, creating surprising volume and fit. The line of the clothing, while always relaxed and masculine, sometimes reminded me of Cristobal Balenciaga.

Here items from the collection are modeled by Gabriele Ambrosi de Magistris Verzier.

CHOCOLATE FACTORY - PAUL McCARTHY - MONNAIE DE PARIS

CHOCOLATE FACTORY

 -  PAUL McCARTHY -

MONNAIE DE PARIS

(25 OCTOBER 2014 - 4 JANUARY 2015)

The performers run the Chocolate Factory and stock the chocolate figurines produced. Our consumer society's system of values is echoed and contrasted.
The Monnaie de Paris location stresses this idea. A building where medals and coins were minted.
We are presented with a parallel activity.

Art, chocolate, butt plugs, and Christmas.
The 'excess' of energy invested in these symbols is destined to be wasted.

The luxury and erotics presented reminds us of Georges Bataille's 'general' economy. The 'excess' is given in order to threaten, to make apparent, a system of values that refuses the idea that commodities could be surrendered without return.

LES PARIS-FOLLIES de LA COUPOLE par LA BARONNE DE PANAME

LES PARIS-FOLLIES de LA COUPOLE

par LA BARONNE DE PANAME

On Friday 24th of October I was lucky enough to attend an amazing evening in Paris. "Les Paris-Follies de La Coupole" unites many people from all over Paris and beyond who enjoy the music, styles and feeling of the past century. Also all those who enjoy the opportunity to experiment with dress and stylishness.

La Baronne de Paname, organiser of this event and of 'Carnet des Bal' fame, danced with Laurent Kaus during the event amongst many others.

A group of revellers photographed outside La Coupole, cooling down from all the dancing.

Laurent Kaus with Martin Rasmussen enjoying the many wonderful sights, dancing techniques and dress styles which span from the 1930's to the 1950's. But all are welcome!

La Baronne de Paname poses with friends in this very open, relaxed and eclectic event. As first time visitors we felt totally welcome by an incredibly warm, receptive and fun loving group of people.

A GREAT experience recommended to all!
