AN EVENING OF PERFORMANCES
DAVID ROBERTS ART FOUNDATION
16th October 2014
Artists, musicians and choreographers present works at DRAF's annual performance platform.
This year the selection included Quinn Latimer & Megan Rooney, Joe Moran, Sarah Lucas and Eloise Hawser who ended the event with an immersing sound work which everyone experienced as they left the space.
Joe Moran's performance was created between dance and performative action.
A group of men struggled against each other while simultaneously holding each other
forming a kind of scrum.
A group of men struggled against each other while simultaneously holding each other
forming a kind of scrum.
It managed to be sporty, masculine, violent, controlled and somewhat erotic.
Sarah Lucas performed frying an egg, one of her 'seminal' materials, and was assisted by Pauline Daily from 'Sadie Coles HQ'.
Martin Rasmussen from 'Vilma Gold Gallery' with Vincent Honore, the Director of 'DRAF', who is wearing a Sarah Lucas fried egg.
Planningtorock performed many hits and new tracks. This was a rare opportunity for her fans to see her in London and proved an interesting mix alongside the other events.
DRAF curated this event with an eclectic, provocative angle that proved exciting and enjoyable and which made us remember the complexities of cultural production.
A good counterpoint to FRIEZE Art Fair which was also taking place at that time.
The evening finished with a private party and dj set by Planningtorock.
A fantastic experience where the dancing started during her performance continued!
